A Chat with Pam: case study Veronica Leigh

with 2 Comments

Happy new month!!!

It’s the fifth day but…it’s still new anyway.

I hope July did you well. For me, it was pretty much challenging.

Anyway, as you all know, I love to reveal women, today I have with me Veronica Leigh. I remember saying that everyone is an entrepreneur cause your life is Gods business and we need to work at it to make it better.
We all have got stories to tell, don’t be ashamed of yours cause it could serve as an encouragement to someone out there.
Pam: Hello Veronica!!! Can you define your story in five different words?

Veronica: • Healing • Deliverance • Restoration • Transformation and breakthrough
Pam: What was growing up as a child like for you?

Veronica: It was confusing and very painful. I had one question that needed answering and that was WHY?
The hardest part was, I believed that my mother didn’t love me. Also, having to cope with these spoken words “I wished you were never born” and I have been called many other hurtful words, but that one really hurt!
Pam: What have you being able to take from your experiences?

Veronica: My perception of life was tainted before I could speak. Being told by ones father that your own mother rejected you and didn’t want you and was not able to give any reason as to why, I felt like I was a very big mistake walking the earth. However what I did take away from my experience was this. When someone say they love you it comes with being beaten up and with horrible words injected into your life. So when another person hits or beats you and call you names it means they really love you. However something in your heart tells you the opposite. From a child’s point of view – I learnt how not to be a mother. I learnt from an early age that words do have power and also being given the gift of choice to receive or reject cursed words spoken or prophesied over ones life.

As the bible says in Deuteronomy 30:15-20(NIV)
15 See, I set before you today life and prosperity, death and destruction. 16 For I command you today to love the Lord your God, to walk in obedience to him, and to keep his commands, decrees and laws; then you will live and increase, and the Lord your God will bless you in the land you are entering to possess.
17 But if your heart turns away and you are not obedient, and if you are drawn away to bow down to other gods and worship them, 18 I declare to you this day that you will certainly be destroyed. You will not live long in the land you are crossing the Jordan to enter and possess.
19 This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live. 20 and that you may love the Lord your God, listen to his voice, and hold fast to him. For the Lord is your life, and he will give you many years in the land he swore to give to your fathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
After reading that, It didn’t take me long to make a decision. I chose life, blessings and prosperity. So from all of that I guess what I took away from my experience was I have the choice and the right to change the course of my life with my words. Proverbs 18:21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue; And they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

Pam: That’s right!!!!
Pam: At what point did you say “enough is enough, I desire better”?

Veronica: It was when my ex-husband shoved me over in front of my son nearly cracking my head open on the radiator. That was breaking point for me. All my life I have been beaten, had horrible words spoken over me. As they say this was the straw that broke the camels back. That look of hate and disgust in my husband’s eyes for whatever reason – followed by that shoved, broke me! The same demonic look I got from my mother when she was ready to attack or say something derogatory to me followed me from childhood to adulthood. I use to think something was gravely wrong with me when I was growing up. It was like ‘abuse me’ was written all over me and most people I knew especially those close to me did just that. So it was at the point when Jesus offered me His hand, healed my heart and helped me to stand in His strength, I spoke for the first time believing that “I am wonderful and fearfully made” and deserve better.

I’m expensive
Valuable!!! Expensive!!! Whoever has me must compliment and value me
To value my heart and not throw arrows like darts
I’m Expensive!!!
You could never pay the price for my heart that pumps life
But there is only ONE who used His precious blood and purchased the most important part of my life. i.e
My heart!
I’m expensive!!!

Pam: In what ways have your tests being turned into testimonies?

Veronica: “You cannot be too broken to be empowered and empowered to be a victor in order to change lives” – Veronica Leigh
Joel Osten said this “Nothing in life is wasted. God will turn your test into a testimony”.
I look back on my life now and say “there can be no testimony unless there is a test.” God wants His people to have a great testimony.
“And they overcame him [the devil] by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.” (Revelation 12:11).
My testimony is about what I have experienced. I talk about my experiences with God through Jesus Christ. I am called to a relationship of real communication with the Son of God. God comes to live inside in me. He changes me from the inside out. I do a lot of speaking local to my community, national and internationally one of my role is ‘I am a pastor’. I am as real, direct and transparent as they come all for the Glory of God. I am also a singer, songwriter, author and workshop facilitator. I talk about how God has intervened in their life in more ways than one can imagine. Hoping that more people will begin to realise that God is for real, miracles do happen, and prayer works. This will inspire others to seek God and turn from their sins so that they too can know the peace and satisfaction that comes to a person who truly gives their life over to God.

This is the reason why I was born. Acts 26: 16-18
16 ‘Now get up and stand on your feet. I have appeared to you to appoint you as a servant and as a witness of what you have seen and will see of me. 17 I will rescue you from your own people and from the Gentiles. I am sending you to them 18 to open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me.’
The Bible says, “Oh, give thanks to the Lord! Call upon His name; Make known His deeds among the peoples!” (1 Chronicles 16:8).
If you have been rescued by God from your sin and the consequences of it, one of the ways you can express thanks to God is by telling others of what happened. Writing your story down will equip you to share it verbally with others, and will enable you to reach at least one person per day for the rest of your life for the Lord.
I will never forget my life journey. It will be used to tell my story! I hope and pray my story will inspire or encourage someone else who might be going through the same thing or something similar.

God will:
Turn your test into a testimony
Turn your mess into a message
Turn your mistakes into miracles
Turn your pain into a platform
Turn your stumbling block into a stepping stone
Turn your barricade into a bridge
Turn your darkness into light – Quote unknown (internet)

Pam: Is there anything else you would like to share with us?

Veronica: Jeremiah 29 v 11 – 14
11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. 14 I will be found by you,” declares the Lord, “and will bring you back from captivity. I will gather you from all the nations and places where I have banished you,” declares the Lord, “and will bring you back to the place from which I carried you into exile.”

Pam: Finally, what’s your word for the world?

You are a precious Gem
You need to be polished
By those who have you in the palm of their hands
With deep seated desire to bring out the best in you
Rather than having you confined in a box
A coffin for want of a better word
Not to be seen, honoured, recognised as
A precious Gem
My desire for you all, is to be polished and displayed
In the image of a Divine Creator
Re-visiting His Creation in order to
Bless and give you life

Also, the relationship between my mum and I is brilliant. Forgiveness is the key to healing and to moving on in our lives.

Pam: Thank you for reading and if you didn’t, please do. You can tell Veronica is doing well, she would be launching her first book soon “Birthed out of chaos”.

I don’t know what you story is, I don’t know what life has fed you with, but it’s not over. If you don’t know where to start, start with Jesus.

Have a great weekend guys. I hope someone was blessed to start all over again. 😘😘😘😘
